Register your MSME on Udyam
Udyam Registration is the official, free, paperless identity for micro, small and medium enterprises. It gives access to priority-sector lending, MSME schemes, delayed-payment protection and government procurement benefits.
Incorporate a company or LLP
Companies and Limited Liability Partnerships are registered with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs on the MCA21 portal. The SPICe+ form for companies bundles name reservation, incorporation, DIN, PAN, TAN, EPFO, ESIC, GSTIN (optional) and a bank account. LLPs use the RUN-LLP and FiLLiP forms.
Get DPIIT Startup India recognition
DPIIT recognition gives eligible startups access to tax benefits (on separate certification), self-certification under labour and environmental laws, faster patent examination with fee rebates, easier public procurement norms and schemes such as the Seed Fund and Fund of Funds.
File a trademark application
Trademarks are registered by the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks (IP India). Applications are filed online and, once registered, are valid for 10 years and renewable.
Schemes
PM Mudra
Collateral-free loans from banks, NBFCs and microfinance institutions for non-farm income-generating micro enterprises.
Stand-Up India
Bank loans for SC/ST and women entrepreneurs to set up a new (greenfield) enterprise. The scheme was originally announced to run until 2025; the Stand-Up Mitra portal still lists it, so confirm current availability with your bank.
PM SVANidhi

PM Vishwakarma

PMEGP
Credit-linked subsidy for setting up new micro enterprises in manufacturing and services, implemented by KVIC, state KVIBs and District Industries Centres. The approved scheme period ran to 2025-26, so check the portal for current status.
SISFS
Early-stage seed funding for DPIIT-recognised startups, routed through selected incubators, for proof of concept, prototypes, product trials and market entry. Check the portal to see whether incubators are currently accepting applications.
