An employment-linked incentive scheme that rewards first-time employees joining the EPFO and gives employers incentives for creating additional jobs.

What you get

First-time employees registered with EPFO get up to ₹15,000 in two instalments (the second linked to completing a financial literacy programme). Employers get a monthly incentive per additional employee retained, for a set period. Check the official portal for current terms.

Who can apply

  • First-time employees joining an EPFO-covered establishment within the scheme window, subject to the wage ceiling in the guidelines
  • Employers registered with EPFO that add employees above their baseline and retain them

How to apply

  1. No separate application for employees; generate/activate your UAN through face authentication on the UMANG app when you join
  2. Keep your bank account seeded with Aadhaar in EPFO records so DBT incentives can be paid
  3. Employers file returns through the EPFO employer portal
