Register as a voter / get a voter ID (EPIC) – Form 6
Indian citizens aged 18 or above on a qualifying date can enrol in the electoral roll of the constituency where they ordinarily live. Applications can be filed in advance from age 17. Apply online with Form 6, through ECI's apps, or via your Booth Level Officer (BLO).
Steps

Go to the Voters' Service Portal or the Election Commission's official app and sign up with your mobile number

Fill Form 6 (new voter); NRIs use Form 6A
- 3
Upload photo, age proof and address proof; submit and note the reference number
- 4
The BLO may visit to verify; track status online
- 5
Once enrolled, download the e-EPIC (digital voter ID); the physical EPIC is delivered by post

- Proof of age (e.g. birth certificate, Class 10 certificate, Aadhaar, PAN, passport)
- Proof of ordinary residence
