Get a passport urgently under Tatkal
Tatkal is a faster processing option for fresh and re-issue passports, available for an additional fee. Some categories are not eligible for Tatkal.
Steps

Apply on the Passport Seva portal and select 'Tatkal' as the scheme type

Pay the Tatkal fee and book an appointment (Tatkal slots may be released separately)

Visit the PSK with original documents, including the documents required for Tatkal
- 4
In most cases police verification is done after the passport is issued

- Tatkal costs extra over the normal fee, which was revised in 2026. Check the Passport Seva fee calculator for the current amount.
