Get a passport for a child (minor)
Minors (below 18) need their own passport. Parents apply online and accompany the child to the Passport Seva Kendra. A minor's passport is usually valid for 5 years or until the child turns 18, whichever is earlier.
Steps
- 1
Register on the Passport Seva portal and fill the application in the child's name
- 2
Fill in both parents' details and attach the declaration by parents (Annexure D) if both parents are not accompanying; other annexures apply in special cases (single parent, separated parents)
- 3
Pay the fee and book an appointment
- 4
Visit the PSK with the child, at least one parent and original documents
Documents
- Child's birth certificate
- Parents' passports (if any) and address proof
- Annexure D or other annexures as applicable
