Open a basic (Jan Dhan) bank account

Anyone without a bank account can open a zero-balance basic savings account under PM Jan Dhan Yojana at any bank branch or Business Correspondent (Bank Mitra). It comes with a RuPay debit card and built-in accident insurance.

Steps

    Visit any bank branch or Bank Mitra outlet

  2. 2

    Fill the PMJDY account opening form

  3. 3

    Complete KYC with Aadhaar (or another officially valid document); a 'small account' can be opened even without full KYC, with limits

  4. 4

    Get the passbook and RuPay card; link the account to Aadhaar and mobile for DBT

  5. 5

    Enrol in PMJJBY, PMSBY and APY through the same account if you wish
