Get or recharge a FASTag
FASTag is the RFID tag used for electronic toll payment on national highways. A vehicle without a valid FASTag pays a higher toll. Tags are issued by banks and authorised issuers and linked to your vehicle registration. An annual pass option for private cars is available through the Rajmargyatra app.
Steps
- 1
Buy a FASTag from an issuer bank (online or at branches/points of sale) using your vehicle RC and KYC
- 2
Fix the tag on the inside of the windscreen and complete the issuer's 'Know Your Vehicle' (KYV) process if asked
- 3
Recharge through the issuer's app/website, UPI or net banking; check balance and status with your issuer
- 4
Only one active FASTag is allowed per vehicle; close old tags when you change issuer or sell the vehicle
- 5
For the annual pass or toll grievances, use the Rajmargyatra app/portal or call the NHAI helpline 1033
