Block a lost or stolen mobile phone and check connections in your name (Sanchar Saathi)

Sanchar Saathi, from the Department of Telecommunications, lets you block a lost or stolen phone's IMEI across all networks (CEIR), see all mobile connections issued in your name and report unknown ones, check whether a handset is genuine, and report suspected fraud communications.

Steps

  1. 1

File a police complaint (online or at the station) about the lost/stolen phone and get a copy

  2. 2

Get a duplicate SIM for your lost number from your telecom operator

  3. 3

On Sanchar Saathi, choose 'Block your lost/stolen mobile handset', enter the IMEI, police complaint details and verify with OTP

  4. 4

Keep the request ID; once the phone is found, use 'Unblock found mobile'

  5. 5

Use 'Know mobile connections in your name' to report connections you don't recognise
