Help for urban poor and middle-class families to build, buy or rent a pucca house, through four verticals: beneficiary-led construction, affordable housing in partnership, affordable rental housing, and an interest subsidy on home loans.
What you get
Central plus state assistance per house under the beneficiary-led construction and partnership verticals, or an interest subsidy on home loans for eligible EWS, LIG and MIG families. Check the official portal for current amounts.
Who can apply
- Urban EWS, LIG and MIG families (income bands defined in the scheme guidelines)
- The family must not own a pucca house anywhere in India
- Not to have availed housing assistance under a central/state scheme in the last 20 years
How to apply
- Apply online on the PMAY-U unified web portal ('Apply for PMAY-U 2.0') with Aadhaar verification
- Choose the vertical; your urban local body verifies eligibility
- For the interest-subsidy vertical, apply through a participating bank/housing finance company
